Summary:
This po! sition will be required to work independently to identify, source, and secure new business for the organization. He/she will also be expected to leverage existing relationships potentially identifying additional business opportunities for the structured finance business and possibly cross-selling other products for the investment bank. He/she will be expected to have strong technical skills in structuring deals and needs to effectively work with other team members to execute within given time frames.
Primary functions and essential responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for Marketing, Originating, Structuring and Executing deals for the structured finance group.
Key participant in the due diligence process to ascertain the viability of the underlying project and/or transaction.
Primary focus will be on opportunities in Spanish Speaking Latin America, therefore, research and due diligence of these markets is required.
Prepare and coordinate all necessary materials for the credit approval process.
Interface with lenders, sponsors, lawyers, and all relevant parties during the execution process, to facilitate the final closing of deals. This process includes the negotiation of credit agreements and all other related loan documentation.
Coordinates with the relevant support and control functions of the Bank i.e. Middle Office, Operations, Accounting, etc.
Contributes to the development and implementation of an annual business plan for Structured Finance
Mentors and coaches less experienced bankers and ensures that others are continuing to learn new skills and be exposed to different aspects of the deal process.
Who we are looking for:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or related field
Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards such as KYC
English required, Spanish preferred
Kno! wledge of credit issues and capital structuring skills
Some relevant professional experience preferably at international banks with a presence in Latin America, boutique investment banks, or Private Equity
Expertise in originating and executing structured finance deals
Experience with Energy, Infrastructure, or Oil and Gas sectors
Experience with Structured Trade Finance/Risk Mitigation a plus
Effective interpersonal skills
Superior oral and written communication skills
Strong negotiation skills and experience working in an international environment
Ability to interact with senior management effectively
Ability to work as a team player in a dynamic, fast-paced and collaborative work environment
Client relationship skills as well as relevant product knowledge, and technical expertise
