My client, a major global organisation, now seeks to appoint a General Manager to be based in their offices in New York.
The Company is a world leader in the development and provision of solutions for the management and assignment of employees around the world. Our highly skilled teams help to ensure that businesses’ international assignments operate efficiently and cost-effectively.
The New York office operates as one of four major regional offic! es and provides customer support to our subscribers world-wide! , but with particular emphasis on the Americas. The jobholder will be expected to work with the team based in the UK and also interface with staff from our Hong Kong and Australia offices. This full time role will require frequent international travel. Full technical training will be given.
Purpose
To develop and maintain a network of subscribers and clients throughout the Americas and to ensure the Company is recognized as the leader in the industry.
Sales and Business Development

  • Analyzes markets and opportunities. This also involves monitoring the competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules and merchandising techniques whenever possible
  • Focuses sales efforts by industry/geography throughout the Americas.
  • Develops leads listings and undertakes cold calling as required
  • Ensures product mix is promoted across markets
  • Recommends changes in products,! service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments
  • Produces proposals and tenders for prospects
  • Conducts sales presentations which are adjusted to meet needs of prospect
  • Attends seminars and conferences with aim of meeting prospective clients
  • Reports regularly to the Commercial Manager
  • Consulting
  • Produces International Assignment Reports and other reports as requested.
  • Conducts policy reviews.
  • Produces surveys on ad hoc basis for clients when required.
Client Service
  • Resolves customer issues by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to client.
  • Coordinates client service activities with other Company offices.
  • Administers the clients’ accounts for updates to subscriptions, billings, communication
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; review! ing professional publications; establishing personal networks; particip! ating in professional societies.
Administration
  • Runs the day-to-day office activities, and makes sure that all legal requirements are met. This will include producing Form 5500, working with attorneys when required, and staff management and development, etc.
Requirements
  • Degree level education
  • Excellent English and Spanish skills
  • Ability to travel extensively
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills
  • Experience working with HR or in an HR Department and a commercial role
  • GPHR not required but preferred
