Reviews new matters and waivers for written waiver compliance, identifies deficiencies and non-compliance, and follows up with partners to obtain necessary material and information to f! ulfill compliance. Updates, records and coordinates with other group members regarding client/matter written waiver data for accurate and effective reporting to management and partners. Reviews engagement letters for completeness and reports on deficiencies. Provides guidance to partners, other attorneys and secretaries on engagement letter preparation, process and procedures.
Serves as resource regarding engagement letter and written waiver process and procedures. Identifies and records engagement letter and waiver documentation in imaging database and the Firm's intranet for access by staff and partners. Provides relevant knowledge and support to others in the Firm in a manner that increases the level of understanding of Client Accounting processes. Understands and responds to inquiries and requests made by partners, other attorneys, secretaries, legal assistants and staff and demonstrates this understanding through the use of effective communication.
Ha! ndles multiple complex client/matter analysis projects. Update! s departmental and Firm documentation relating to the engagement letter and written waiver procedures. Actively seeks to enhance knowledge of all Client Accounting procedures and processes. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge of Firm operation, policies & procedures. Knowledge of Excel and Word. Knowledge of Aderant with respect to client matter intake process and billing-function. Ability to perform internet research using various search functions.
Ability to work independently. Works effectively in a team environment. Ability to handle multiple projects, assignments and shifting responsibilities. Ability to organize and prioritize work.
Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to handle confidential / sensitive matters. Ability to work well under pressure. Deals courteously and effectively with others.
Ability to read, interpret and follow instructions. Pays attention to detail. Ability to meet deadlines. Flexibility! to adjust hours to meet operating needs.
Minimum of two years of KYC/AML experience and/or other similar law firm/industry experience.
