The New York County District Attorney's Office is seeking a proj! ect management specialist to assist with the overall management of several projects that will deploy various technology enhancements and process changes that will transform and improve agency operations. The preferred candidate for the project management role will possess either a working understanding of the business of a large urban prosecutor's office or direct experience with large scale projects and/or organizational change.

Specific Responsibilities

At the direction of agency executive staff, oversee the progress of several simultaneous initiatives and serve as a main point of contact for key stakeholders on all projects within their portfolio.

Focused on day to day operational execution but an active participant in planning and strategy for the group.

Help define project scope and schedule as well as participate in RFP/RFI process when appropriate.

Interacts with stakeholders and management to manage expectations, provide ! status updates on project and discuss concerns.

Is ac! countable for ensuring resolution of concerns/issues.

assesses feasibility, risk, regulatory compliance issue

Ensures that project financial status and material variations are proactively communicated to stakeholders.

Manages resources, project schedule and budget to meet deliverables.

Preferred Skills

Possesses knowledge of successful project management methodologies, tools and techniques.

Possesses familiarity with general business functions of NYC criminal justice agencies.

Applies a strong understanding of business problems and provides meaningful guidance and views on solutions and possible alternatives as needed.

Able to manage large, complex projects involving multiple vendors, partners, consultants, and leading edge technologies.

Able to effectively communicate highly technical information to numerous audiences, including senior management, stakeholders and junior staff.

Effect! ively and proactively sets and manages delivery expectations including delivering tough messages to stakeholders and management.

Effectively and proactively manages expectations.

Works independently, typically only receiving oversight and direction during critical decision points or issues.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
1. A master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a closely related field; or

2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience working in one or a combination of the following areas: project management for a large public or p! rivate concern, budget administration, accounting, economic or financia! l administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, employment program planning/administration; or in a related area.
