Employment Counsel Position
We are seeking a bright and analytical attorney to join our Legal team, supporting the HR and employment-related needs of the firm. Your responsibilities will include:
Providing legal support for a variety of HR and employment matters, including employee relations, benefits, recruiting, employment-related agreements, policies and new HR programs;
Keeping abreast of a wide spectrum of other legal and business initiatives throughout the company, ranging from regulatory-related matters to transactional hedge fund matters;
Working with general and legal counsels;
Providing day-to-day counseling on a variety of issues;
Researching and drafting legal memoranda;
Effectively managin! g business relationships across the company.
Requirements Include:
A JD from a top law school.
2-4 years of work experience at a top employment practice.
Highly developed written and oral communication skills, with special emphasis on drafting and negotiation.
Ability to work independently and manage internal clients and outside counsel.
Desire to work on a range of matters, learn “on the job†and increase scope of work and responsibility as needs arise and experience allows.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent professional judgment and discretion who possesses broad experience in employment and benefits matters.
Admission to the NY bar.
