THE ROLE The Marketing Manager is responsible for successful delivery of marketing events, presentations and sales literature for target clients. Working closely with Legal practice leadership and the marketing team, this individual will help bring to life the innovative, responsive, action-oriented, trusted advisor status which Hudson Legal embodies for the firms' clients. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for the strategic and operational success of marketing events and speaking engagements and the creative presentation of the brand the division's services in the form of presentations and sales material. The selected candidate will join a team of talented marketers at Hudson, including an online marketing manager and two others, and will work with top leaders in the Americas organization. This role will report directly to the senior marketing leader for the Americas region and will have a dotted-line reporting relationship to the senior leader of the Hudson Legal practice. RESPONSIBILITIES Event Management Snapshot Events are hosted by professional associations and are held, on average, once per month. They typically take the form of sponsorships with small exhibits alongside speaking engagements featuring a Hudson Legal expert. Occasionally, a larger exhibit and/or overseas coordination is required. The role will handle all planning, coordination with association contacts, internal timelines, communications to internal attendees, logistics for exhibits and premiums, speaker preparation, execution of the events and measurement and reporting of results. This individual also serves as the information conduit for online event marketing activities performed by the Online Marketing Manager. Presentations and Sales Literature Snapshot Presentations are required on an as-needed basis (typically twice per month) for client meetings ranging from initial meetings to specific capabilities presentations to full business proposals. Using PowerPoint, presentations are most often printed as leave-behind handouts, but other programs such as Prezi or Google Docs may be needed for live presentations. Sales literature and presentations are initiated by salespeople or executives and are created in conjunction with leadership and subject matter experts. Once completed, a library of presentations must be maintained for repurposing, creating efficiency and sharing of best practices. Some portions of the library are made public for self-service by the sales team. QUALIFICATIONS To be considered for this role:
- Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in marketing, event planning and management in a professional services firm.
- He/she must also have served in a role that works directly with subject matter experts with demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into visual PPT presentations. Examples of communicating in a very organized fashion will be important, as this individual must keep multiple timelines for different events moving forward at once.
- Copywriting skills are needed as well for maintaining the sales literature library.
- A degree in Marketing or Communications is required
- The ability to identify client pain points and offer solutions as well as craft compelling messages for the right targets with our event presence and sales materials is necessary.
- A flexible work style to respond quickly to new ideas and needs is required.
