Summary:
Directs the Meat Merchandising function for the company. Manages all aspects of purchasing, inventory management, quality control, sales promotion and financial and budgeting controls within this area. Oversees meat merchandise buyers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop Meat merchandising budget to ensure that corporate profit objectives are realized.
• Ensure that gross margin and all other financial measurements are realistic and attainable within the Meat area.
• Responsible for developing merchandising plans geared toward achieving sales and profit budgets.
• Assist Advertising and Merchandising departments in developing weekly advertisements and sales programs geared toward the meat function.
• Develop merchandising procedures and standards within the Meat departments. Provide technical assistance with regard to Meat department layouts of new stores, replacements and remodels.
• Responsible for gathering and maintaining competitive pricing information as it relates to Meat.
• Oversee inventory management program for the Meat function.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA/S in Business or related field
• 5 or more years experience managing meat, deli or related operations for supermarket or similar company
• Valid driverAaas license.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow-through to achieve desired results and objectives.
