Join our team as we open a unique fine dining restaurant in Miami Beach, curated by our very own Michelin-starred Chef Tristan Brandt. Our hours of operations will be Wednesday through Sunday in the evening hours (approximately shift from 5pm - 10pm).
I. Job Summary
A. Primarily responsible for providing friendly, attentive, unobtrusive and accurate service to create an exceptional dining and drinking experience for all of our guests. Each server’s primary objective is to create a nurturing environment for our guests, ensure our guests’ ultimate satisfaction, up sell food and drink and promote The Carillon Hotel and Spa product. Cleans, prepares and resets tables. Ensures dining room and service stations are clean and orderly at all times.
B. Supervised by the Food & Beverage Managers.
II. Essential Job Functions
A. Welcomes and greets guests, making all guests feel comfortable.
B. Informs guest of specials and walks guest through the menu offerings.
Makes recommendations and performs suggestive selling.
C. Conversant and knowledgeable of all food and beverage products and services.
D. Takes food orders from guests and enters orders into the POS system, which relays the orders to the kitchen and the bar.
E. Up sells food and beverage menu items.
F. Attends on-going food and beverage training sessions.
G. Delivers food and beverage from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner.
H. Performs side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignments.
I. Maintains clean service area.
J. Monitors and observes guests dining experience.
K. Ensures guests are satisfied with the food, beverage and service.
L. Responds promptly and courteously to any requests.
M. Prepares and presents final bill, accepts, processes and secures final payment; makes change (if applicable).
N. Removes used tableware between courses and provides tableware for next course when requested by server.
O. Clears tables after guests. Takes tableware to dishwashing area and places silverware, dishes, glassware, etc in appropriate areas for washing.
P. Promptly cleans tabletops, chairs and booths between seating’s.
Q. Checks floors, cleaning as required and resets and arranges tabletops.
R. Ready and willing to assist fellow servers as needed and server assistants with clearing and resetting.
S. Performs service recovery as required to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
T. Thanks guests for their visit and invites them to return.
U. Adheres to responsible alcohol service guidelines.
V. Available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by management.
W. Ensures compliance with all cash handling and bill handling policies and procedures.
X. Understands and studies The Carillon Hotel and Spa nutrition philosophy, menu ingredients, as well as the Ranch's overall operation, philosophy, activities and services in order to better answer guest questions.
Y. Adheres to The Carillon Hotel and Spa standards for guest service.
Refers guest problems or complaints to supervisor, according to The Carillon Hotel and Spa guest problem resolution policy.
Reports and documents any observed or known safety hazards, conditions or unsafe practices and procedures to management immediately.
Performs other job-related duties as directed.
