This exciting opportunity within the Legal Department will focus on different areas of the law.
IP â" time and skill level permitting:
Review of trademark watch notices indicating internâs understanding of trademark law, and allowing for discussion of the various likelihood of confusion factors.
Conduct trademark clearance searches, enabling the intern to become familiar with the USPTO trademark search system, as well as how to conduct a common law use search.
Draft response regarding conclusions of search, which will enable the inte! rn not only to analyze but communicate said analysis and concl! usions to a client (vs. attorney) in a formal letter.
Observe various USPTO filings (renewal, applicable affidavits, extensions to oppose, notices of opposition, responses to office actions).
Draft a response to a cease and desist letter, which will enable the intern to analyze, argue, and communicate in writing a response to a potential adversary.
Draft a Response to an Office Action, which will require the intern to analyze and argue against the Examinerâs objections, and allow the intern to not only learn the form/structure of said responses, but familiarize him/her with the procedure.
Label review for proper IP use and attribution.
Review/familiarize with different types of licenses (TM, Copyright), assignments, and releases
Time/need permitting, research current âhot topicsâ in IP/Privacy law
Litigation/Employment â"
Review selected case files to become familiar with types of cases typical for corporate legal department
Resear! ch areas of law pertinent to ongoing cases and prepare short memoranda
Research and draft potential policies on isolated employment and/or legal issues
Participate in calls and meetings to observe typical interactions to extent confidentiality/privilege concerns permit
Corporate â" time and skill level permitting:
Review of state qualifications for corporate entities
Prepare model terms and conditions
Review/familiarize intern with various model contracts
Prepare memoranda on various corporate topics (as needed and as time permits)
Review Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
Regulatory â" time and skill level permitting:
Review and revise selected advertising, marketing, promotional and social media content for FTC/FDA compliance
Review regulatory developments [enforcement, rules, regs, guides], and draft summary memos for senior staff
Conduct discrete research projects on the application of laws/regs/guides, to clie! ntsâ specific fact situations
Real Estate â" time and sk! ill level permitting:
Review real property leases for discrete research projects
Participate in real property acquisitions and/or divestitures as corporate events dictate
Conduct analysis of real property portfolio for discrete research projects
Responsibilities:
Various projects within different areas of our Legal department including Intellectual Property, Litigation / Employment, Corporate and Real Estate.
Experience:
Completion of at least two years of an accredited law school with current and active matriculation in such law school
No less than a âBâ aggregate GPA from accredited law school

Education/Certification/ Licenses & Registrations:
Completion of at least 2 years of an accredited law school with current and active matriculation.
"B" aggregate GPA or above.
