Description: New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) is looking of Storm Response Unit Paralegal right now, this job will be placed in New York. NYLAG has an opening for a paralegal in its Storm Response Unit to assist with NYLAG's provision of comprehensive legal assistance to New Yorkers who are recovering from Superstorm Sandy. The paralegal will conduct client intakes, perform case consultations and support unit attorneys, and may also assist with the Unit's data management, reporting and communications. The position is based in NYLAG's office in downtown Manhattan, but includes travel to locations throughout NYC and Long Island.
Applicants should be prepared to work in a fast-p! aced environment and handle a high volume and wide variety of ! tasks. Successful applicants will have excellent analytical and communications skills, a strong commitment to public service and a willingness to interact with diverse client populations in a sensitive and professional manner. Preference will be given to applicants who are fluent in Russian or Spanish.
