Job Description: Senior Quality Assurance Manager The Quality Assurance Senior Manager is responsible for protecting quality image by adhering to the strategies ba! sed on the company as Food Safety and Quality programs and initiatives. The position is responsible for supporting an end-to-end view of food safety and quality through the integration of Quality Management Programs across the manufacturing and the global supply chain. The Sr. QA Manager will work under the direct supervision of the Corporate Quality Assurance / R&D Director.
Location: NY (Headquarters) Salary Range: $80K - $110K Based on Experience (up to 15% Performance Bonus) Responsibilities: Ensure policies and manage objectives of all quality control and regulatory functions in accordance with organizationas objectives. Manage activities related to quality control including scheduling, coordinating, quality assurance standards, processing procedures, and planning. Manage company food safety and sanitation practices and efforts according to industry best practices.Provide technical guidance to production supervisors and QA personnel on regulatory standa! rds (FDA, State Health Departments, USDC), customer - third pa! rty food safety and quality auditing standards, and GFSI (BRC) standards. Manages and maintenans of HACCP, SSOP, SOP, and GMP programs according to relevant up-to-date scientific research and information.
Responsible for supporting and executing R&D initiatives with internal processing business units. Manages Product Development initiatives from concept to commercialization, including product evaluation and formulation in collaboration with Corporate QA / R&D Director. Direct on-site food safety and quality audits of major suppliers. Executes quality, food safety, and sanitation training activities for supervisors and line personnel.
Observes and enforces food safety, GMP, and allergen programs and attends appropriate training sessions. Provide support and guidance to the Customer Service Department for consumer and customer food safety and quality related issues. Oversee the management, tracking, and analysis of all customer credits and returns. Supports ! to ensure that all purchased products are approved and meet all applicable state and local regulations.
a Must actively participate in Continuous Improvement Initiatives. Additional responsibilities as necessary.Skills and Requirements: Must have B.S. in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field. 5+ yearas leadership experience in food manufacturing in the Technical and Quality function.
Must have experience working within an FDA regulated facility. Proficient knowledge of FDAas Seafood HACCP Guidelines and CFR. Experience working with Listeria intervention strategies in R-T-E high risk food environments. Knowledge of quality assurance and food safety standards, including third party standards such as GFSI (BRC and SQF).
Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Must pay meticulous attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in diverse groups and ability ! to influence without authority. Ability to deal with conflict at all le! vels and areas of the organization and work well with others to accomplish results.
Ability to spend up to 80% of time on plant environment. Commitment to the objectives of the organization. o Seafood experience a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
