Prominent Law Firm seeks Practice Development Coordinator to work with America?s Banking and Capital Markets.

Position Summary

The ! Practice Development Specialist ? Americas Banking and Capital Markets (?PDS?) will support the business development and marketing efforts of the Americas Banking and Capital Markets Sections, their sub-practices (excluding Financial Restructuring & Insolvency (?FRI?), the global banking practice and certain key client teams. The PDS will report to the Regional Practice Development Director for Americas Banking and Capital Markets (?PDD?).

Overall Goals

To help develop and manage a program of marketing and business development activities that supports the overall business goals of the Americas Banking and Capital Markets Sections as determined during the annual business planning process and devise and implement a variety of strategic initiatives around business opportunities as they arise.
To help ensure a sustained level and appropriate mix of marketing and business development activity and that efforts are coordinated between lawyers and across pract! ices, global practice groups, offices and Regional Sections. To develop ideas into plans, ensure that plans quickly morph into action and ensure that progress is tracked against agreed goals.
To ensure that planned activities are executed to the highest standards, with appropriate follow-up and tracking of results, and in accordance with the Firm?s best practices.
To manage, develop and refine the processes and procedures relating to the Sections? marketing ?infrastructure?, ensuring that processes are efficient and in line with the Firm?s agreed approach and best practices and particularly to ensure that the best possible use is made of available technology, including InterAction (the Firm?s contact management system (?CMS?) and the Matter Profiling System (?MPS?).
To provide high-quality, pro-active support to certain key client Lead Relationship Partners (?LRPs?) and their core teams and the Global Practice Leader for Banking.

Specific Responsibilities

Working with the Practice Development Coordina! tor ? Americas Banking and Capital Markets (?PDC?), maintain and develop the Sections? marketing collateral, including brochures, experience statements, Powerpoint presentations, transaction lists, website content and lawyer biographies, ensuring materials are always up-to-date, well-written, contain compelling and consistent messages about the Sections? practices and incorporate, in an appropriate way, general messages about the Firm from the Firm?s Messaging Guide.
Maintain and develop the Sections? collection of accolades and ?factoids? for use in proposals, award and rankings submissions and other settings.
Maintain and develop the marketing and business development sections of relevant practice pages on Connect (the Firm?s intranet) ensuring that useful and appropriate materials are easily accessible and up-to-date.
Working with the PDD, develop and manage the use of InterAction to support the Sections? business development activities, coordinating related ! information gathering processes, ensuring proper tracking of activities! and a regular flow of information about business development to the Sections lawyers and key client teams.
Develop non-routine proposal documents and pitch presentations that present the Sections? practices, lawyers and their capabilities, making a clear case for the Firm in a thoughtful way that addresses clients?/potential clients? needs. Work with the Firm?s finance team to develop fee proposals that balance client demands with the economic requirements of the Firm. Manage the overall proposal process and ensure appropriate follow-up and tracking.
Coordinate and participate in the monthly core team calls for certain key clients and global banking. Prepare and circulate brief meeting notes summarizing action items and ensure proper follow-up. Review and circulate monthly financial reports for the key clients and global bank finance assisting partners with their efforts to understand and monitor the financial performance of their clients or regional practices. Wor! k with finance and Section Billing Coordinators as appropriate to assist partners with their efforts to manage WIP, billings and AR and year-end collections drives. Work with finance to manage the annual BAML credit and prepare regular client reports on credit usage. Develop and maintain certain key client team pages on Connect.
Working with the Firm?s external consultant and the PDC, develop strategic submissions for the Sections? practices to publishers of key law firm/lawyer rankings, particularly Chambers and Legal 500. Prepare partners for interviews with researchers. Evaluate a variety of award and ranking opportunities and make recommendations regarding participation.
Coordinate the production and distribution of Client Alerts and other Firm publications working with the Firm?s creative services and marketing technology teams.
Work with the Firm?s media relations team to place articles authored by the Sections? lawyers and help field requests from reporte! rs for interviews or comments on stories and prepare partners according! ly.
Develop and distribute regular internal communications about the Sections? work and clients and recent marketing and business development activities.
Devise and produce a variety of events for the Sections? practices and key clients including educational/CLE events and social, networking and team-building activities.
Coordinate the Sections? involvement with relevant industry associations and other groups.
Coordinate the Sections? participation at/sponsorship of industry conferences.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The PDS will help manage, guide and develop the PDC.
