THIS IS A FULL TIME PERMANENT POSITION.
Multi-national experience and experience of the financial services industry will also be a dis! tinct advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Assist and advise business leaders in the Americas on a wide variety of legal and compliance matters
- Provide pro-active and responsive, commercial legal support to sales teams, including drafting, reviewing, advising and negotiating a range of commercial legal agreements for the Americas, ensuring consistency and clarity in language
- Identify contractual, commercial and operational risks and propose solutions
- Implement global and local policies and guidelines
- Coordinate with external third parties (including managing external lawyers) where appropriate
- Day-to-day supervision and mentoring of 's Legal Counsel, Americas based in New York
- Review incoming contracts presented by potential suppliers and brief the purchasing team as to any required changes
- Participate in any required negotiations with the supplier concerned (taking the lead on terms and con! ditions)
- Other legal matters arising in the Americas ! including managing (with external counsel where appropriate) labor law matters, property matters and any litigation.
- Admitted to the New York Bar
- 7+ years of experience preferably in-house in the IT or technology services sector
- Requires IT sector experience, including software and service licensing, SaaS, consulting or outsourcing
- Financial sector experience, including regulatory compliance
- Strong commercial/ business acumen
- Experience leading and managing in-house legal resource and external counsel
- Demonstrated experience negotiating and drafting complex commercial contracts
- Must evidence a high level of productivity, strong time management and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary to work effectively with clients, external counsel and internal management at all levels.
