Description

  • Manage a portfolio of 10 â€" 15 US Commercial Banking transactions that are subject to classifiable, judgmental management standards and credit policies;
  • Accounts will consist of multiple banking products and services with OSUC of $1MM+ or greater;
  • Delegated credit initial (pursuant to Credit Policy â€" Grid 2.1).
  • Involved with high risk exposures subject to FAS 114 reporting.
  • Participate in Special Mention Consultations for exposures of $2.5MM or greater.
Developing and implementing workout (recovery) strategies that are intended to m! inimize risks associated with commercial transactions originat! ed by the Commercial Banking offices. The analyst directly manages customers involved in various industries, e.g., energy, and various credit structures, e.g., borrowing bases, plus situations involving potential fraudulent activities and franchise risk issues.

  • Managing assigned portfolios within acceptable risk parameters on an ongoing basis until workout is complete.
  • Identifying, modifying and implementing workout strategies.
  • Working and interacting with customers, attorneys, and other third party professionals to acquire necessary documentation, due diligence, and market intelligence.
  • Evaluating and processing data and historical information to determine appropriate strategy.
  • Developing and presenting action plans for assigned accounts to Senior Management or 3rd parties.
  • Negotiating with customers, bank group lenders, and internal Citi product/customer partners.
  • Reviewing accounts on a routine basis! to gauge the level of progress achieved versus stated action plan, payment status (delinquency), documentation exceptions, financial covenants, data integrity, and any other customer service (internal or external) follow-ups that arise during the course of time.
  • Advising Business and Risk Management partners of progress of the workout plan as well as potential risks that may develop throughout the course of the remedial management effort.
  • Preparing metrics and reporting criteria for loan performance including internal and external requirements such as FAS 114, TDR, and Basel.
  • Dealing with internal and external counsel on a cost effective basis.
Qualifications

  • Understanding of remedial management; recognizes issues and is able to establish and process risk mitigation plans from inception to implementation to resolution.
  • Proven technical expertise.
  • Proficient in negotiating skills with customers, and i! nternal product/operational partners including Legal, Controls, Fraud, ! MIS/Reporting and Compliance.
  • Strong ability to communicate in settings that will typically involve conflicting priorities and timetables.
  • Understanding of remedial management; recognizes issues and is able to establish and process risk mitigation plans from inception to implementation to resolution.

This position reports to a Team Leader and is essential to maintaining adequate coverage on our portfolio of classifiably managed loans with exposures that are typically in excess of $1MM.

Bachelor’s degree.

Workout experience and commercial lending/asset based lending experience are preferred.
