Associate General Counsel

The Asset Management Law Area at TIAA-CREF provides legal advice and support to the company's Asset Management Division, which is responsible for all investment activity of the enterprise as well as asset management business development and product management. The Area is looking to hire an attorney capable of providing legal advice and guidance primarily in the area of privately placed fixed income investments, mezzanine lending, and direct privately placed equity investments. Experience in alternative investments such as agriculture, timber, energy or infrastructure would be a plus. Experience in one or more of the following areas would be helpful: bankruptcy and workouts, insurance regulation relating to asset management, international transactions, derivatives, securitizations, lease financing, public and 144A fixed income investments ! or private equity funds.

Qualifications

Q! ualifications:

• 6 to 10 years experience with a major law firm and/or an in-house legal department with a focus on or more of the following disciplines is required; fixed income investments, mezzanine lending or equity investements
• A law degree from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials
• Currently licensed to practice law in at least one state
• Strong verbal and communication skills, interpersonal skills and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently on projects with minimal supervision
