Salary Range: $12.66-$20.55 per hour
Function:
Responsible fo! r performing a variety of duties relating to the processing and administration of mortgage file applications. Contributes to the overall efficient operation of the department.
Essential Functions:
1. Will be required to successfully register with Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System Registry (NMLS) and obtain a unique identifier through the registry that is provided to consumers in accordance with all SAFE Act requirements. In addition, must successfully renew registration with NMLS annually. Maintains and updates personal registry information as necessary to include name changes, employment changes, etc.
2. Proactively process mortgage applications in the pipeline to their conclusion.
3. Have a working knowledge of all mortgage products being offered by the Bank, Underwriting guidelines and Secondary market guidelines.
4. Set up new mortgage files and process application fees.
5. Review Loan Prospector for conditions, document requiremen! ts and data integrity.
6. Order and review credit reports,! appraisals, and Flood Certifications.
7. Review data in Morvision and make corrections as needed or as information is verified.
8. Obtain and review all required documentation from the borrowers to ensure the underwriter has the appropriate information to issue a commitment.
9. Prepare files for underwriting.
10. Obtain and review all documentation required to clear conditions. Follow up with borrowers for missing documentation.
11. Interact with Attorney’s and borrowers to proactively schedule timely closings of mortgage applications.
12. Prepare closing documents and provide to Attorney’s office in a timely manner.
13. Maintain confidentiality of applicant information and their right to privacy at all times!
14. Enter HMDA data into Jack Henry for declinations.
Non-Essential Functions:
15. Responsible for recognizing potential sales opportunities and referring the client to the appropriate bank personnel for further! discussion.
16. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-2 years experience as a mortgage processor/ or previous related experience in the mortgage industry.
- Excellent verbal, visual and written communication skills to effectively communicate with borrowers, attorneys, fellow employees and bank management.
- Proficient and accurate typing/keyboarding skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to serve borrowers in a cordial, tactful and professional manner.
- Proficient in Jack Henry, Word, Outlook, and Excel Applications.
- Ability to operate various types of office equipment including, but not be limited to, telephone, copier, computer and fax machine.
- Must maintain confidentiality of information at all times.!
