Business Development Analyst for the Latin American Group

Large International Law Firm located in Midtown is seeking a bright, articulate analyst ! to support the Marketing and Business Development needs of the Latin American Group; must speak Spanish, Portugese a plus:

This person will be responsible for supporting the firm?s global client relationship management and business development efforts including tracking the Latin America group?s client team activities to assure follow up and action; and leveraging his/her research and writing skills to support the firm in executing business development and marketing initiatives with a primary focus on new business pitches for the Latin America group. The Business Development Analyst will facilitate the flow of information within the Latin America country teams, thereby improving the knowledge and intelligence relevant to the clients and prospective clients? organizations, structures, business issues and personnel. The position includes heavy research and data entry responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare pitch materials for prospecti! ve client meetings and RFP responses, including coordinating w! ith manager and other colleagues to develop response strategy; tailoring and customizing proposal content; editing, assembling, proofing and distributing final proposals
Perform research and generate client relationship and practice group reports
Data entry to maintain pitch tracking system, practice data/materials and client relationship activities, by updating relevant databases (with firm experience, accolades and other practice content) and coordinate with knowledge management and graphic design departments
Catalog and track internal case studies and substantive presentations, and assist with related research?necessitates working closely with associates and practice resource attorneys in the development of materials; and includes research through external sources, as well as closely following internal practice resources
Prepare industry, geographic, business sector and prospective company profiles
Assist with preparing initial drafts of legal directo! ry submissions
Coordinate updates to collateral materials
Assist with special projects from partners as assigned
Generate internal and external presentation materials for key initiatives
Maintain an internal wiki page for senior lawyers in the Latin America group
Assist with internal and external event planning

Capabilities and Personal Qualities:
In-depth understanding of the capital markets and investment banking business, particularly in Latin America
Shows interest in the commercial marketplace and business activities by keeping abreast of current affairs. Understands the role of the commercial lawyer
Familiar with Fortune 500 and similar companies research sources
Computer literate and familiar with CRM systems and databases (though we are not looking for a systems specialist)
Experience using Thomson Reuters, Bloomberg, MergerMarket or other similar databases
Can demonstrate good analytical skills and an abil! ity to ?read? data
Excellent communication skills?both written and ! oral
Able to take a proactive approach with creativity, tenacity and energy
Able to pay attention to detail and demonstrate a strong client focus
Ability to plan ahead, balance conflicting priorities, anticipate team workload, manage time efficiently, and manage expectations
Acts with professional demeanor
Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills?with partners, key associates, colleagues and clients. Works effectively and flexibly in a team; motivates and supports others, listens actively to the opinions of others and offers suggestions when relevant. Education and Experience
BA/BS degree is the minimum requirement
2 years Client Relationship Management/Business ! Development experience within a legal or large professional services environment, or a leading financial institution
Portuguese and/or Spanish speaker requirement
