Responsibilities
The Government Investigations group maintains responsibility over healthcare and other matters that come before federal and state authorities, including the U.S. Department of Justice, SEC, HHS Office of the Inspector General, and U.S. Attorney's Offices, as well as interactions with the U.S. DOJ and SEC around the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). The Paralegal in the Government Investigations group is responsible for the intake of new matters, management of case database and hard files, direct interaction with clients, preparation of reports and interview memoranda, note-taking, and assisting in the coordination of in! ternal investigations. In addition, the Paralegal supports and! helps oversee substantial outside budgets and assists in compiling the Group's financial and other reporting requirements, including reports to the Company's audit committee, board of directors, and business units.
Qualifications
- B.A. or equivalent , paralegal certification preferred
- 4 + years of paralegal or legal assistant experience either with a law firm or corporation.
- Government Investigations experience strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and language skills, as well as drafting and administrative skills
- Substantial experience in independently drafting, updating, and maintaining internal reports
- Good judgment and discretion in handling confidential information
- Excellent Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills
- Experience with TeamConnect preferred
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle multiple demands and priorities simultaneously
- Ab! ility to meet deadlines
- Language skills are a plus
