The prima! ry responsibilities of this position will be to provide legal advice and support to the Dental and Vision Product Organization, which provides group dental and vision benefits for employers, associations, unions, state and local governments, and the federal government. The position is based in New York City.

Principal Responsibilities
Act as regulatory and compliance resource for the group benefits business with particular focus on dental and vision benefits.
Identify and analyze compliance risks based on relevant federal and state laws with emphasis on health insurance laws (including PPACA) and ERISA.
Support the business in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to manage and mitigate compliance risk.
Evaluate current methods and strategies and identifies opportunities for changes and improvements.
Interact effectively with business clients on! a daily basis and partner closely with associates from other ! departments including Dental and Vision Product, Marketing, Sales, Administration, Compliance.
Provide advice in connection with solicitations for new and renewal insurance and administrative services only business.
Draft and negotiate contracts, including administrative services agreements. Job Requirements
Juris doctor degree from an accredited law school and excellent academic credentials.
Bar admission required. New York bar admission required within one year of employment date.
Legal experience reflecting a record of excellence.
Experience with contract drafting and negotiations.
Desired Competencies
Knowledge of state group insurance laws and regulations, as well as applicable federal laws such as PPACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and ERISA a plus.
Knowledge of group insurance products and operations including claims operations and third party administration; familiarity with dental and vision products a plus.
Ability to handle multiple proj! ects effectively with excellent organization skills and ability to work independently.
Ability to deal effectively with clients including senior management.
Demonstrated research and writing ability.
Sound professional judgment and analytical skills.
Travel Requirements
The position is based in New York City and some travel will be required. Business Category
