Job Description
Acquaints patients with the purpose and philosophy of the hospital and the patient representative program. Interprets hospital policies and procedures to patients, families and visitors.
Communicates and demonstrates to the patient and his family, staff and the community, the concern and responsiveness of the institution in meeting the health needs of the individual
Documents all complaints, requests and compliments concerning the institution, its staff and services.
Analyzes and evaluates data to determine appropriate action and refers to cognizant resource person and/or agency for resolution.
Consults with appropriate s! taff as part of resolution process to ascertain corrective measures to be taken to resolve complaint for timely and effective response action.
Keeps patient fully informed of status of complaints.
Expedite delivery of patient's medical information to lawyers, insurance carriers and physicians.
Confers with the Finance Department and insurance carriers to ensure that appropriate billing systems have applied and takes any corrective action needed thru the Finance Department.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or Social Sciences, Health Care Specialization or related programs; and,
2. A minimum of one year responsible experience in an administrative, supervisory or consultative capacity in hospital administration/organization in the coordination and delivery of patient care services; or,
3. A Master's Degree from an accredited co! llege or university in Public Health, Public or Hospital Administration! , Health Care Specialization, Business Administration or related disciplines.
4. or a satisfactory equivalent combination of training, college education and experience.
