DUTIES:
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for describing, recording, storing, and retrieving critical active and closed case files for the Civil and Criminal Divisions.Typical work assignments will include:

Preparing indices and detailed summaries of case files containing voluminous legal documents Drafting various legal documents including motions, subpoenas, interrogatories, complaints and other legal forms Inputting case file information into a case management system

Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Travel Required: None.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
To be qualified, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to! the GS-6 level in the federal sector performing legal support work relating to locating and retrieving material from files; preparing indices, folders and box lists; identifying and describing documents in terms of subject content and volume, OR , possess one year of graduate level education directly related to the work of the position.

All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools that meet this criteria, see www.ed.gov .

If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.

You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement.

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:
Your application will be evaluated and rated under DOJÂ's Category Rating and Selection Procedures. Your resume and supporting doc! umentation will be used to determine whether you meet the job qualifica! tions listed on this announcement. If you are basically qualified for this job, your resume and supporting documentation will be compared to your responses on the Occupational Questionnaire. If you rate yourself higher than is supported by your application materials, your responses may be adjusted and/or you may be excluded from consideration for this job. If it is determined you meet minimum qualification requirements, your application will then be placed in one of three categories: Best Qualified, Highly Qualified, or Qualified Within these categories, applicants eligible for Veterans' Preference will receive selection priority over non-veteran preference eligibles.
