Lead Attorney Editor, Securities and Governance

Location: New York, New York

Description: GCC Consulting is currently seeking to employ Lead Attorney Editor, Securities and Governance right now, this vacancy will be assigned in New York. The candidate will help shape strategy and develop editorial content and related products for securities lawyers and corporate counsel. Will have direct and indirect management responsibilities for an editorial and analyst team, and will be responsible for leading the team to meet aggressive deadlines for developing practical content and guides practicing attorneys. Attend or speak as a panelist at conferences or webinars as a subject matter expert, and will identify trends and best practices in related areas of the law. Be instrumental in driving thought leadership in securities, disclosure and governance for company. Lead a team of attorney editors and analysts in writing, editing, updating and maintaining practice guides, checklists and other practical articles on topics related to the practice of securities law. Directly and indirectly manage individuals and teams. Will be responsible for developing a large body of editorial content, leading a team of attorney editors and analysts, to meet aggressive product launch deadlines. Write and edit a regular series of senior-level legal analysis articles on tight deadlines, and help shape the analysis of junior attorney editors and analysts. Advise on product roadmap for senior attorney practice tools using own practice experience and needs as a frame of reference. Develop and implement new types of disclosure analysis. Attend and/or speak at conferences as a thought leader in securities practice. Responsible for legal analysis accompanying annual/quarterly special reports based on data-driven topics of interest to securities lawyers. Identify editorial QA needs and implement QA processes.

The candidate should have a J.D. degree and 8-12 years of securities, disclosure, governance and related regulatory practice experience. Some capital markets and M&A experience is preferred. Experience with US securities regulators, forms, processes and procedures required. Some experience with global securities regulatory bodies preferred. Prior experience representing a company or firm at conferences and events as a subject matter expert is required. Business development experience preferred. Global law firm or in-house experience is required. SEC experience is strongly preferred. Should have deep understanding of trends and best practices in securities, governance and disclosure practice. Must have interest and ability to effectively represent company as a securities, governance and disclosure subject matter expert at conferences and events. Should have demonstrated experience effectively leading, managing and coaching others.
