Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand – comprising of 19 Districts: where you can advance your career in a variety of internal medicine departments and regions throughout the motu (country). From Southland to Whangarei, Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand has a variety of Internal Medicine Registrar positions for the 2024 training year both at Basic Trainee Medicine Registrar and sub-specialty Advanced Training level. While some provide regional rural experience, others are major tertiary teaching hospitals.
The training programme
In New Zealand the Junior Doctor training year commences on the 29th of January 2024.
Each region in New Zealand has its own training programme and sub-specialty training opportunities and we would encourage you to seek information on these via the individual Te Whatu Ora District websites (www.aucklanddoctors.co.nzwebsite for the Auckland region). In addition, further information on training in Internal Medicine can be found on The Royal Australian College of Physicians (RACP).
Eligibility criteria
- Minimum post graduate year 3 (PGY3/FY3)
- Eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
