Job Description: Position Summary The Sr. Manager for U.S. Regional Marketing / Key Markets: NY/NJ will have two primary functions:
1) Help the Office Managing Partners in the NY and Princeton offices to define strategy, develop business and raise the brand profile in the region, while ensuring collaboration with the global Business Development team and alignment with Firm, Industry and Practice Group objectives; and,
2) Lead and Manage U.S. regiona! l marketing staff, in their efforts to support general marketi! ng initiatives in their respective markets. Those initiatives include events, sponsorships, community support, client research, attorney bio and matter updates on the firm website, budget tracking and more.

Essential Functions Relating to Key Markets: NY/NJ:
Define Marketing strategies for NY and NJ in conjunction with Office Managing Partners, with the end goal to drive Firm business and raise its profile. Create plans to deliver on Marketing strategies and undertake/oversee/drive action items as appropriate. Identify cross-regional/department/group marketing initiatives that are aligned with the NY / NJ plans. Collaborate with other Marketing Directors, to be able to identify opportunities relevant for key markets. Relating to leadership of U.S. Regional Marketing Team:
Maintain appropriate structures and department processes and procedures. Recruit, hire, train and mentor marketing personnel. Provide effective performance reviews and set and monit! or personal objectives. Work with Marketing leadership to ensure and improve coordination of activities across departments. Build improved team cohesion and cooperation. Understand and become proficient in all facets of the Regional Marketing function in order to establish best practices, identify challenges and have context to provide appropriate resolutions. Additional expectations:
Regular attendance at Partner Meetings, globally and in key markets. Provide regular progress/challenge updates to Marketing & Events Director. Work with Department Management to analyze the efficacy of marketing goals, initiatives, events, and individual spend and redirecting them as necessary. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field required.

Experience:
Eight+ years of experience in legal marketing at an international law firm or other complex professional services environment. The ca! ndidate must be able to lead, motivate and inspire a team. He/she must ! also be able to demonstrate the ability to interact and influence members of a large organization, have strong writing and communication skills, and the ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities while staying focused on big picture objectives. The ability to function independently, effectively, and professionally within a multi-faceted organization is key.

Skills:
This position requires a very high energy level and flexible approach. Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must have high degree of poise and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts. Ability to handle projects independently, prioritize workload and solve problems quickly. Must be able to assist individuals of various levels with needs and problems and react to difficult situations appropriately. Possess sensitivity to cultural differences and! issues. Ability to work in virtual teams and across a global platform.

Other Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages several Marketing professionals directly, and their reports indirectly, who have marketing responsibilities in various U.S. office locations.

Equipment to be used:
Personal computer and other office equipment such as telephone, calculator, fax machine, copier, scanner, etc.

Typical Physical Demands:
Manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment.

Typical Mental Demands:
Able to deal with stress associated with fast-paced work environment. Multiple priorities/tasks. Make judgment decisions and adapt to changing work situations. Grasp and apply new ideas. Communicate with various personalities at all levels.

Working Conditions:
Works in a typical office setting. Sometimes called upon to work hours in excess of your normal daily schedule. Occasion! al business travel required.
