Responsible for accurate and timely reporting of all accounts receivables reports, analysis of employer accoun! t balances and employer contributions toward member benefits at the 1199SEIU Benefit and Pension Funds
Prepare various delinquency and aging reports to ensure contributions are being collected timely to meet the funding needs of member benefits
Conduct employer balance research for all collection and reporting activities
Develop spreadsheets and database analyses for presentation and analysis of accounts receivable reports (Access, Excel, V3); determine accuracy of information in accounts receivable system and identify trends that may impact future funding
Calculate employer receivable arrangements (Confessions of Judgment and Awards) to collect on past due receivable needed to fund the member benefits
Create schedules from accounting data to be used by Actuaries and Finance Division for regulatory and budgeting purposes
Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management
Qualifications
Bac! helors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration ! or equivalent years of work experience required; plus
Minimum two (2) years experience as a Financial Analyst, Research Analyst or Data Analyst in a high volume environment required; experience with collections or accounts receivable a plus
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access highly preferred; demonstrated knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, reporting and web based accounting systems (Oracle, V3)
Experience maintaining and using complex databases required; must be flexible in assisting with implementation of new software , testing, and offline data capture
Excellent analytical skills, organization and attention to numerical detail
Critical thinking capabilities and ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a high volume
Able to communicate well with collection attorneys and employers to request missing information, discuss balance due, and work through reconciling accounts
Comm! itment to quality, process improvement and contributing to efficient operations
Must meet performance standards including attendance and punctuality
