Summary
The PD Manager is responsible for managing marketing and client development programs for several practice groups to be assigned by the Director of Marketing. The PD Manager has responsibilities along two levels: a) for specific practice groups, and b) for specific geographies or for specific functional areas.

Practice Group Responsibilities: The PD Manager is responsible for staying on top of present and emerging trends in specific client industries, creating and implementing multi-faceted strategies to raise the profiles of the practices and attorneys as well as collaborating with attorneys on business development plans. Significant responsibility and autonomy will be afforded candidates who demonstrate independent judgment, strategic and diplomatic thinking and the ability to function effectively at several levels.

Geograp! hic or Functional Responsibilities: Each PD Manager will a! lso be responsible for support to specific assigned offices or for functional areas in support of Firm wide objectives. Office support includes regular communication with local leaders, and management of those local marketing or business development activities that lay outside the practice groups.

Other Responsibilities: The PD Manager may also provide daily oversight of the PD Coordinators (individual assignments vary) ensuring the timely completion of business development-related activities. The PD Manager analyzes and resolves work issues on a day-to-day basis under supervision of the Director of Marketing. In this supervisory role, the PD Manager is accountable for the work and actions of the Coordinators and Assistants they oversee.

Responsibilities
Provide strategic input and direction to members of the practice group(s) for the development and effective implementation of short and long-term plan initiatives. Serve as a liaison between the! group and the Marketing Department.
Attend and participate in practice group meetings or local office meetings to discuss marketing and business development activities.
Assist in the design and planning of educational seminars and client social functions.
Assist in the identification of opportunities and development of new business proposals, marketing materials and presentations. Facilitate the planning, implementation and follow-up of new business or cross marketing opportunities.
Work with attorneys to update and maintain key databases
Coordinate distribution of firm publications including mailings for client updates, announcements and other client development related materials.
Assist attorneys who join the firm laterally to ensure a timely integration into the Firm.
Interface with the Marketing Department to effectively and efficiently complete marketing initiatives and promote team atmosphere.
Assigns work: Assign tasks and proj! ects to the Coordinators and Assistants explaining how those duties are! to be done (i.e. what level of performance will meet the supervisor's expectations) and communicate how the successful performance of those duties will be measured. Effective communication is key to ensuring the Coordinators and Assistants are productive and accurate in the work product they produce. The Supervisor is the role model and leader for those who report to him/her.
Training and development: Ensure marketing staff have the tools and training needed to carry out their duties; communicate firm policy and procedures; provide ongoing guidance to marketing staff.
Participates in performance evaluation of staff in conjunction with the Marketing Director.
Administrative duties: Approve time cards, ensure workload is distributed in advance of vacation schedules and other various administrative functions as necessary.
Qualifications & Education

Computer Skills:
MS Word, Excel, InterAction, Adobe InDesign, PowerPoint, proje! ct management software

Education & Prior Experience:
Bachelor's degree required. Marketing degree is a plus.
Minimum 5+ years experience in a marketing/communications function within professional services required; law firm experience preferred.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal relations, written and oral communication skills required.
Strong client service attitude required.
Needs to work well under pressure and be an excellent problem-solver and
team player.
Must have the ability to organize and prioritize and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail is necessary.
