Goldberg Segalla LLP, a dynamic and rapidly growing litigation firm with offices across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut and a national practice, seeks a paralegal in ! its White Plains office to primarily work on toxic tort litigation cases, including asbestos litigation.
Job Description:
§ Conducts various document searches and factual research.
§ Summarizes legal documents.
§ Drafts legal documents including, but not limited to, pleadings and motions.
§ Reviews and organizes medical records.
§ Coordinates a high volume of depositions.
§ Files court documents.
§ Prepares general correspondence, memoranda and complex legal documents according to the requirements set by each practice group.
§ Maintains, organizes and tracks files in an efficient and effective manner.
§ Maintains confidentiality of client information in accordance with firm policies.
§ Interacts professionally with clients, attorneys, paralegals, secretaries, all other staff and other representatives outside of the firm.
§ Ability to handle pressure, interruptions and multiple projects with frequently ch! anging priorities and deadlines.
Requirements/Skil! ls:
§ At least two years of defense litigation experience, toxic tort and product liability litigation experience preferred.
§ Exceptional organization skills.
§ Positive attitude.
§ Excellent writing and communication skills.
§ Ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
§ Team work oriented.
§ Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging environment.
§ Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
§ Ability to perform legal research.
§ In depth knowledge of legal terminology and principles.
§ Ability to analyze legal documents and ensure accuracy.
