Description: TAXI & LIMOUSINE COMMISSION is at present looking to employ Prosecuting Attorney right now, this position will be designated in New York. The New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) is the agency responsible for licensing and regulating New York City's yellow taxicabs, for-hire vehicle! s (community-based liveries and black cars), commuter vans, paratransit vehicles, and certain luxury limousines. The TLC licenses and regulates over 50,000 vehicles and approximately 100,000 drivers, performs safety and emissions inspections, and holds numerous hearings for violations of City and TLC rules and regulations, making it the most active taxi and limousine licensing regulatory agency in the United States.

The Prosecution Division of the Uniformed Services Bureau is responsible for the prosecution of all summonses issued by the TLC. The Prosecution Division includes the Court Unit which investigates and prosecutes over 30,000 administrative summonses annually, and the Consumer Complaint Unit which investigates and prosecutes complaints initiated by consumers including but not limited to passengers and licensees and the Leasecap Unit which investigates violations of leasecap rules by owners and agents. Under the direct supervision of the Managing Attorney ! of the Leasecap Unit, the selected candidate will investigate ! and prosecute a variety of cases including driver complaints and compliance related cases. The Prosecuting Attorney will appear before the OATH Taxi and Limousine Tribunal.

Minimum Qual Requirements
Graduation from an accredited United States law school as defined in the Rules of the New York Court of Appeals (Sections 520.3 or 520.5) or admission to the New York State Bar.

Preferred Skills
Interested candidates should have a demonstrated commitment to public service, excellent written and verbal communication skills, effective problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize, manage time, and engage in multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Although not required, the successful applicant will likely have experience in litigation and customer relations.

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointm! ent.
