Responsibilities:
Practical Law US is looking for an Executive Compensation Editor to work on resources for our online services. The Editor will:

Assist in the development of ideas for executive compensation and employee benefits content to be published on Practical Law’s online services.

Review and revise summaries of executive employment agreements.

Establish and maintain relationships with external law firm contributors providing executive compensation and employee benefits resources.

Write, edit, and update employee benefits and executive compens! ation resources, including practice guidance notes, checklists, and standard forms and policies in accordance with Practical Law writing style.

Write and edit content for Practical Law's companion magazine, Practical Law The Journal.

Develop relationships with law firm attorneys, in-house counsel and groups to ensure that the executive compensation and employee benefits content is topical and meets their needs.

Candidates should have the following skills and experience:
At least six years experience working as an employee benefits and executive compensation attorney in a law firm or as in-house counsel, with special focus on executive compensation law.

Enthusiasm and ambition, with a desire to improve the efficiency of legal services.

Ability to work well in a team in an open office environment.

A good understanding of the needs and priorities of law firm attorneys, in-house counsel and the legal market in gen! eral.

A passion for writing and good editing skills, includ! ing:
o Very close attention to detail;

o Impressive command of grammar, punctuation, and plain English; and

o The ability to write about complex legal issues clearly and simply.

Expertise in the following areas is preferred:
o Designing and drafting executive compensation plans and agreements;

o The federal tax and securities implications of compensation arrangements;

o The treatment of employee benefits and executive compensation arrangements in corporate transactions;

o Reviewing and summarizing executive employment agreements and

international executive compensation issues.

Candidates selected for a second interview will be required to undertake writing and editing tests.

According to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the H-1B visa cap has been met for the 2014 fiscal year (October 1, 2013-September 30, 2014).
