Job responsibilities include:
Contacting patients with delinquent accounts to obtain payment.
Answering patient questions regarding their outstanding balances and works to establish payment plans where applicable.
Resolving patient account issues typically by phone with the patient or insurance providers; also will be called upon to interact with physicians, collection agencies and attorneys.
Other responsibilities include: updating patient demographics, payment processing and posting payments.
To be considered, candidates MUST: have 2-3 years of experience with patient collections, possess excellent customer service skills, be computer savvy, have experience with Medicare and commercial insurance, and have an understanding of ICD-9 and CPT coding.
